NAME! Twintail
AGE! 34 moons
RANK! Deputy
GENDER! She-cat
CLAN! ShadowClan
SHORT DESC.! An amber-eyed she cat with a half black, half orange face and body.
FULL DESCRIPTION!Twintail
Not quite like the above picture, but similar concept. Half of her face is black while the other half is like an orange tabby. The two colors are distinctly separate down the middle of her face, making her look like two cats put into one. Even her nose is half black, half pink. Both of her ears are black, however.
It is the right half of Twintail's face that is black and, likewise, the right side of her body is mostly black. The legs on her right side are both pitch black, while her body between them is a dark brindle pattern (like the cat in the picture). Her left side remains orange tabby colored, with faint stripes of white and lightly scattered black markings. There is a line down her belly of purely white fur, as well as around her neck. Her tail is orange with bold, black stripes.
Twintail's eyes are a soft amber in color, alert and steady. When in deep thought, they are often unblinking.
Due to the duality of her color scheme, if a cat has only glanced at her profile, they may not recognize her when they see her again.
PERSONALITY!Twintail's personality consists of mainly two elements, just like her fur. On one hand, if she is comfortable, as she is in her clan, she exemplifies ShadowClan's temper and sharp tongue. She has a tendency to insult clanmates if she feels they are not doing their job well enough. She also has a stubborn streak and will not accept another's logic quickly or painlessly.
This type of attitude may suggest she takes action before thinking, but in actuality, Twintail dislikes hasty decisions. Especially in situations where she is not perfectly comfortable, Twintail is likely to become silent and pensive. She likes to watch and thoroughly analyze before making any judgements. This makes her a brilliant tactician, although not necessarily one suited to emergency situations. She can come up with about as decent a plan as any in a short time, but her skill is more evident in premeditated orchestrations. She finds the simple camp attack foolish and takes advantage of every resource at hand.
This way of thinking is the reason why she is so comfortable being strict amongst her clanmates. She has already analyzed them enough to feel as though she knows what she's talking about. There is no need for apprehension within her own clan.
Unlike many others, Twintail does not have a particularly soft spot for kits. In her mind, they are future warriors and should be treated as such. This world is harsh and minds kits no more than elders. That isn't to say she's mean to them, but she won't cut them any breaks for being cute.
Twintail is loyal to the warrior code but will not hesitate to break it if she deems necessary. Twintail can be considered overly ambitious but only because she wants great things for her clan. She is not selfish, but cannot be considered selfless either. She empathizes too little to be considered selfless, but will not act without the well-being of ShadowClan in mind.
HISTORY!Twintail was born amongst a litter of three. Her sister's name was Dawnkit and her brother's name was Dusk-kit. And then there was the young Twintail, who began her life as Crescentkit.
Dawnkit was a rather silent kit with orange fur that took after their father. For a few moons, their mother was honestly afraid that she was mute, but it was only thoughtfulness that kept her too occupied to speak. Occasionally her voice came out, but it was so meek and soft from disuse that it hardly caught anyone's attention. One day, when all three kits were four and a half moons old, they were playing outside, not even very far from the nursery den. The warriors were all doing their duties though, and there weren't many cats around to guard them. All of a sudden, Dawnkit ran in a burst away from her siblings, and let loose a cry louder than they had ever heard from her. In that moment, a hawk had swooped down and taken her away.
Ever since that day, Dusk-kit and Crescentkit developed a stronger bond. Together, they became the apprentices Duskpaw and Crescentpaw, determinedly taking on the challenges that they knew were stolen from their sister. Both still mourned the loss of Dawnkit, but were thankful to her for keeping their bond strong. The death of Dawnkit had come at a time where the queens still freshly remembered StarClan, and so Duskpaw and Crescentpaw kept their belief in StarClan strong for their lost sister.
Duskpaw's pelt took more after their pitch black mother. He was a dark brindled tom, mainly black with scattered bits of orange throughout. Duskpaw was often a stubborn know-it-all, whose insufferable presence was only suffered by Crescentpaw. Crescentpaw had often tried to talk him out of the foolish things the tom aimed for, but she still held her brother dearly in her heart. Duskpaw was kind when she needed him to be and he was the only one who knew how to prod Crescentpaw out of her silence. However, one day, they were both on a hunting patrol near their ThunderClan border. Duskpaw had overheard another apprentice at a gathering brag about how they had to run across the Thunderpath to deliver a message. Duskpaw wanted to try, and by the time he figured Crescentpaw's pleas were well-founded, it was too late.
With the death of Dawnkit, Crescentkit had become silent in her mourning and quiet fear. However, the death of Duskpaw rang death's injustice in her ears and she started to snap easily, letting out a stream of curses at both her brother and at the now more doubtful presence of StarClan. In essence, she had become an amalgamation of her siblings with the effect their losses had on her. She had lost her brother at 10 moons, and within the next moon, requested a specific name change from her leader. A ceremony gave her the name "Twinpaw" with which she completed her apprenticeship for another moon before being named "Twintail," in memory of their tales and how they came together to make her own.
Twintail has mentored one apprentice and has seen their warrior ceremony through a few moons ago. Twintail is not one to make serious personal connections with her apprentice and is a rather demanding mentor. Though she may seem uncaring with her somewhat ruthless attitude, she does indeed form a strong loyalty to her student and make sure they stay out of trouble, even after their apprentice days are completed. She has high expectations though, and not meeting those expectations will result in severe disappointment on Twintail's part.
Twintail was chosen as deputy mainly for her tactical mind, though her sharp tongue is useful addition for ordering warriors around. There was no room for surprise in her mind when she was named deputy. She only felt pride and ambition for the future of ShadowClan.
RP EXAMPLE!Twintail had just heard the patrol team that was to go on behalf of ShadowClan to the Moonstone to determine the state of their warrior ancestors. Her colorful tail lashed back and forth as she sincerely hoped their spirits were all ground up into the rubble. This is stupid. What would StartClan do for us? What has StarClan done for me? The warrior sat very still, only her tail swishing about her. There was a bustle around camp to prepare for the patrol's journey, but Twintail would only glare at anyone who approached.
Once the team had left, camp had quieted down, and Twintail's anxiousness had vanished. With the lull that suddenly fell across ShadowClan, the warrioress began barking orders at her lazy warriors. "What are you all doing, mousebrains? Just because StarClan doesn't want you doesn't mean you get to lie around the rest of the day!" An outsider might expect such an attitude from Twintail to make her very much disliked in her Clan, but her Clan knew her well enough to know that she was just like this. Twintail wasn't abusing her position. She'd probably get them to work even if she had just gone through her warrior ceremony. And it wasn't as if she was a hypocrite; Twintail pulled her weight. She was being more snappy than usual today, but she was well-respected enough that a few snappy days wouldn't cause the clan to turn traitor.
Getting everyone a little more motivated, she took half a moment's glance at the stars above them. Did you ever make it Dawnkit? ...Duskpaw?
Upset, she tore her gaze from the sky and collected warriors for a border patrol.
