PERSONALITY!
Speckledleaf is a rather small cat, even for her age. She has been small all her life, but her muscles are lean and toned. Her fur is a cross between calico and stripes and is really just a mass of colors. Her belly and chest are stark white, providing a contrast to the blend of orange, tan, and black on her back. The outside of all her legs until about halfway down are the same style as her back, but the stark white of her belly wraps around her lower legs to give her "thigh-high stockings" of a sort. Her tail is a flecked grey color that blends in with her back, but her tail-tip is a deep grey that looks almost black. Her ears, while disproportionate as a kit, have relaxed into a better ratio with the rest of her (small) frame (but they still stick out just a little). These ears give her a reputation of hearing anything anyone says, and especially keeps cats out of trouble inside her den. Her amber eyes only compliment the earthy tones of her colors, especially the orange that frames her eyes.
Have an album of lovely photos.
Intelligent
Speckledleaf is a bright warrior who began her quest for knowledge by adopting the habits of the older cats around her. Highly interested in the role of medicine cat, she would watch the medicine den from the nursery and turn her large ears towards the dean to glean any knowledge she could. A photographic memory tucked into her brain, she easily memorized what herbs were what, and did what, proving herself to be a capable medicine cat. She also picked up on a lot of seemingly trivial knowledge in a wide variety of subjects, making her a good source of information as she will likely know the answer to your question. Her constant curiosity pushes her to learn even more about the world than she already knows, and she is constantly in search for more knowledge.
Naive
Speckledleaf is very trusting. She has a deep desire to see the good in all cats. She will sometimes need to be forced to see that a cat’s intentions are not good, but she always strives to see beyond the surface and give second chances. The naivety also causes her to not really realize how her actions are being taken. She is extremely nice to all cats, and truly displays the qualities of a medicine cat. This naivety also means that she still believes in StarClan. While unable to speak with her ancestors, she trusts that the Moonstone was blocked for a reason, and believes that the way will be opened when the time is right.
Compassionate
A trait adopted from the queens in the nursery, Speckledleaf is very kind. She enjoyed playing with all the kits in the nursery and made sure every kit was included. If a kit was hurt, she would immediately inform a queen and beg to go with the kit to the medicine den (or watch the medicine cat treat her friend) so she could learn even more. Coupled with her desire to see the good in all cats, she rarely (if ever) speaks bad about cats and has trouble dealing with the violence around her.
HISTORY!
K I T
Speckledkit was born into RiverClan and lived a blissful life, totally unaware of the dangers that lurked outside the nursery. She spent her smaller kit days relaxing in the nursery and playing games with the other kits. These games often included Cats and Badgers, Clan Life, or something similar. While the other kits fought and battled and held naming ceremonies, Speckledkit found herself playing role of medicine cat and healing the other kits by covering them in leaves or moss and declaring them healed, or sitting off to the side and watching as the other kits became “warriors”. She continued her playtime role as she got older by staring at the medicine cat’s den from the nursery, watching and observing all she could.

Speckledpaw was ecstatic (yet not surprised) when she was made medicine cat apprentice. She learned quickly, and soon her mentor realized that she had an apprentice with a photographic memory on her paws. While Speckledpaw quickly learned the herbs and how to use them, she was still lacking in the experience department, so her mentor allowed her to diagnose patients first and see how she would handle the task at paw. She improved her skill greatly, and he felt that she was ready whenever his time might come.

After an unknown ailment claimed her mentor, Speckledleaf (with her newly acquired name) decided to hold a vigil much like newly-named warriors do. Instead, she spent this time on her back, staring at the sky and trying to connect to her ancestors without the Moonstone. She remains a devoted follower to this day, needing something to ground her in the world of chaos.

Speckledleaf stopped sorting the herbs in her den to take stock. Cobwebs? Check. Catmint? Check. Bay leaves? Check. Marigold? Check. She continued to rattle off the mental checklist, but realized she was running low on a few stock items. Moving the dwindling piles of burdock root, chervil, and thyme to a more prominent location, she set about tidying up the rest of the den. Pulling from the pile hidden in the back, the calico she-cat rolled up several balls of moss and piled them next to the water pool in her den. She sighed. Being a medicine cat was tough, especially now. Without her warrior ancestors to guide her, Speckledleaf felt that she wasn’t being the best medicine cat she could be. How was she supposed to help Hailstorm if she couldn’t read (yet alone receive) signs from StarClan? She could keep healing, yes, but a medicine cat had more duties that just healing. Their job was to advise the leader in the will of StarClan!
She looked up through the patchwork roof of the den and into the skies, searching. Every leaf caught in the breeze, every floating feather in the river... Anything could be a sign and she could be missing them, not having enough faith. Or perhaps she had too much faith, expecting the Moonstone to be recovered. She just didn’t know what to do anymore. Not that she’d let anyone see that. Tender and loving she may be, but Speckledleaf was not stupid. Not about some things.
She had to hold out. If not for her own sake, but for her Clan’s.
