WELL ladies and gentlemen. I've noticed that a frequent question I get shot my way (dunno about the rest of the admin team, I didn't ask XD) is about the thing our lovely little site runs on. Yeah, the plot :3
Now, we want the members involved with the plot, and as it's important to understand what's going on in the Clans to effectively interact well on FCOTF I decided to make it easy for you (and me lawl) and just post a quick deal about the plot for all of you members to look at. I'll update it as important plot points reveal themselves.
NOTE: These are all things that have ALREADY happened. I'm not about to barf all the fun little surprises we have stowed away fro you all in this post. :3
...
NOTE: X3 also, there's a chance I've missed some details on accident, or some of the things are out of order. If people notice that please give me a heads up. I'll fix it here.
AWRIGHT,
So to get into this little story we have to think of our setting. FCOTF is placed in the original Warriors forest, not the one by the lake. It is technically an AU RP, as Firestar did exist in their world. (but they did not travel to the lake in this version)
NOTE: Okay, yes, Firestar and the original warriors DID live in this forest at one time. They've long since crumbled into dusty kitties. So I don't want to see a butt-load of random cats cropping up who personally have met Firestar or something stupid like that. Or one's related to Canon characters. No offense to anybody who does it, but making a character that is related to a canon character is just about the most Mary-Sue thing you can ever possibly do. XD
Moving from the setting we have the time. Moons and moons have passed since the warriors in the books. Heroes then have faded to little more than exaggeratted tales and stories.
Our interest in ThunderClan started out with a leader named Eveningstar. Now, she went off somewhere for a long time and (-gasp-) her leader position was taken!
Now ThunderClan was torn in loyalties. On the one hand, half the warriors still believed Eveningstar to be the rightful leader of the Clan. On the other, the other half thought the new leader was just doing a swell job.
Result? Well they split of course. Almost right down the middle actually. Eveningstar left, furious and betrayed by her Clan (I say that to be dramatic, I haven't the slightest clue how she actually felt XD) to travel off into a new land.
NOTE: I don't know if the leader she was up against was Elkstar at that time or not. XD So that's why I never mentioned the other leader's name.
Now Evening traveled with the cats that left with her to another place. (they picked up some loners and such along the way too, a-yup) This new place was a gorge, with a violent river ending in a waterfall, near which they made their camp. They became a new type of Clan, a Circle if you will. Their new place was called Rapidfalls Circle (RFC).
Eveningstar took on the name Eveningfall, and was the Circle's first "Chosen One" (I think, -shot- it's that or Chosen) to lead the Circle. (Their ranks were all different. Kits=Pebbles, Apprentices=Stones, Warriors=Rocks, plus the chosen one and the healer and they had more than one Deputy) This place worked in an entirely different way than the Clans of the forest. There were no "mentors" for example, the Stones were trained by the whole Circle. And their "rock" status was gained when the Stones went to visit the Circle's warrior ancestors (the Water Ones), as a few examples.
Now, as you can imagine, while the RFC cats are getting all settled in, ThunderClan eez not in good shape. Half of their hunters are gone, which is a bad bad thing.
So, what happens? Well ThunderClan's leader, Elkstar, headed on over to WindClan where he and Ficklestar (at the time brand spanking new to the leading experience) made an alliance together. Elkstar wanted help...getting Sunningrocks back.
Together, WC and TC both took on a raid on the controversial territory. There was a rather epic battle that ensued, which drove RiverClan and ShadowClan into alliance. In the end...ThunderClan won...or did it?
The battle's unclarity seemed to keep the Sunningrocks between the two of them. It was tense. RiverClan still thought it was RiverClan territory, ThunderClan thought it was ThunderClan territory.
Meanwhile, in TC, Elkstar's health started to decline, very badly. He was awfully ill, and Riptalon, the Clan deputy, took on his duties. He even went to a gathering in his stead.
NOTE: That gathering was rather fun XD Very intense. Lightstar, the RiverClan leader, had just passed away, and her deputy Furysprig was their and...well, furious XD He and Rip actually got into a fight and Riptalon SMACKED him. Yeah, SMACKED, at a gathering! As if that wasn't enough, one of the leader's got a little light-headed and fainted off the rock! (Thaaaat would be Ficklestar X3) Needless to say, the gathering wasn't very productive. (But very very fun to RP, hahaha)
Back in RFC, time had passed and Eveningfall's legacy was something in the past. A new leader rose up out of the depths, a tomcat named Copperfall...and with rather poor timing too. An unshakable winter struck their territory, and the RFC cats slowly began to starve to death...
Then, on back in the Clans, Elk's health was continuing to decline. Riptalon was doing more and more of his duties.
NOTE: Lawl, the fact that Elk was kind of sick is important you TC roleplayers. He was rather scarce toward the end of his leadership. Just something to add to your cats past.
Things were becoming pretty desperate in Rapidfalls. The famine was worse, cats were going to start dying. So Copperfall decided that they'd go on what was basically a suicide mission, a last-ditch effort to get food...head back to ThunderClan and raid the camp!
NOTE: A ton of time has passed since RFC first left TC, a lot of the cats in RFC at that time didn't KNOW about ThunderClan, though a few of them did.
At this raid, unfortunately, Copperfall was taken hostage! The cat lost all the nine lives he was given from the Water Ones, and died...leaving the already desperate Circle without a leader. ThunderClan took pity on the homeless cats, and RFC left Rapidfalls, and once again joined with ThunderClan. (more than doubling their numbers XD)
Meanwhile, in ShadowClan, the deputy Frigidscorn bided her time as she stood in the shadows of her leader, Poisonstar. Her ambitious intentions to rule the entire forest are not without cruelty…
NOTE: Okay, here’s something that always annoys me about Fridge…NOBODY KNOWS SHE’S EVIL. So do not go into SC and post around all, ‘she hated frigidscorn cause that cat was like, so evil.’ Or I will throw Nightrage at you. Seriously, if you just read the posts with her you’ll know right off, that she’s VERY good at hiding her dark intentions. In fact, she’s almost CHARISMATIC in her own way, that’s kinda what’s so freaky about her. (lawl, yes Shimm, I’m ranting about your cat. I’m such a stalker XD)
In WindClan Ficklestar’s brother Blackblizzard lead him to twoleg-place and convinced a former ThunderClanner who had gone mad (Firestorm) to murder him. Luckily the rogue who had joined WindClan, Assassin, was there and killed Firestorm before he could completely kill him. Blackblizzard revealed to the Clan that Ficklestar was once insane, and appealed that this was the reason he tried to kill him. Fickle was a grump. Blackblizzard was banished, and Assassin’s sister Orangeflash left the Clan because she loved him. (She only just realized before she left X3)
NOTE: That up there, what I just said, is mostly a personal plot. I put it here because he’s leader and having a basic knowledge of what’s recently gone on with him can only help. That description of said mini-plot does NOT give it justice, it’s too deep to go into in something like this. If you’re interested in stalking him just PM me hahaha.
In ThunderClan, Elkstar (the sick leader, remember?) woke up because he had a dream. He had to get to the moonstone! Only thing was, it was storming pretty bad. Still, despite the awful weather, Elkstar dragged Riptalon all the way to Mothermouth to talk to his warrior ancestors.
Things went from bad to worse, as Mothermouth COLLAPSED. That’s right, collapsed. A cave-in crushed Elkstar to death…and blocked the Clans from the thing that holds them all together! The moonstone!
NOTE: the Moonstone being blocked is a BIG deal. It’s actually a good idea to talk about this in posts folks. Certain Clans won’t know all the details, but their religion has literally been smashed down. They can’t talk to their warrior ancestors. That’s pretty nervous-making.
Riptalon returned to ThunderClan, and has become leader. Problem though, the moonstone is blocked! He couldn’t get his name, OR nine lives…which was NOT a good thing.
Shortly after Riptalon became leader Ficklestar wandered into his camp. The reason, why Firestorm of course. The former ThunderClanner HAD gone mad after all, Ficklestar was wondering what the heck was up with not getting a heads up on that situation. One thing lead to another, and after a rather tense meeting, the alliance with ThunderClan and WindClan was broken.
As if things weren’t bad enough, what with the collapse of the moonstone, winter dragged on. And on. And on. And when it finally cleared? Mud, that’s what. The rain hardly ceased, changing the territories into a flooded land.
One dark and stormy night, the leader of RiverClan was killed by rogues! With his dying breath he gave the leadership, not to Speckledheron, his deputy, but to the warrior Hawkwing!
NOTE: during a recent gathering, Ficklestar had a teensy relapse and attempted to kill his own son, and renounced StarClan. (we have such dramatic gatherings, lawl) He snapped out of it, was ashamed, and ran off. A lot of people mistakenly assume he’s been gone for three moons. He was gone for a day. He’s in WC, leading it (though there’s no doubt a bit of uncertainty and confusion from his Clan) and he’s not a zombie. XD I just haven’t been posting in WC territory with him lately because I’m using my muse for him for a mini-plot, so make no mistake, he wasn’t gone from the Clan for moons.
After this, in ShadowClan...Poisonstar vanished. That's right, the leader was gone. And Frigidscorn quickly and efficiently took his place. There was a fox attack on the camp around that time, but there was only one fatality it was not crippling in any way.
Note: You know what that up there means? Ficklestar is the only leader who received nine lives and a name...and he's renounced StarClan! Oi vey...
And just as the cats began begging for the rain to cease, guess what happened? That’s right baby, a drought. Hahaha, because there’s no end to a hell on earth it seems, the dry spell went spiraling quickly into Leaf-fall.
With the chill in the air came another, new terror, on the border of WindClan territory. A disease causing creatures to foam at the mouth and die of madness. Yes, it’s rabies, and it’s in WindClan right now! One warrioress was bitten, it’s only a matter of time before this strange disease spreads throughout the Clans, further weakening them…
NOTE: Wanna kill your cat? Torture them XD seriously, I need rabies subjects. PM me if you’d like to help me spread my icky foamy disease all around the Clans.
In ThunderClan, Riptalon has decided to meet up with Hawkwing. Order of business? A truce of sorts. Their animosity is being dissolved (is that thread done yet, I haven't stalked it for awhile X3).
Aand…
That seems to be it. I think we’re all caught up now. :3 If I missed something and someone noticed it, please beat me with a bat until I change it. If you still have some questions, feel free to send a PM my way. I’ll answer any questions I can without spoiling the plot.
Ah, and yes, when I have time I’m going to go hunt down as many plot threads as I can find for you. :3 I’ll put them up there where they correspond with what I told you. I hope you have a firmer grasp of the going’s ons here at FCOTF. Have fun Roleplaying <3
