AGE! 6 moons
RANK! Medicine Cat Apprentice
GENDER! She-cat
CLAN! ShadowClan
SHORT DESC.! A black and white she-cat with yellow eyes, she is on the smaller side.
FULL DESCRIPTION!
A smallish, black she-cat with a white chest, neck, shoulders, and paws, yellow eyes, and ears too large for her body, Flaringpaw looks to be the makings of a fine medicine cat, if not a clumsy one. Her paws aren't quite large enough for her long legs, but she makes up for it with her big ears, excellent for detecting prey (or enemies, as a matter of fact).
PERSONALITY!
Flaringpaw grew up in the ShadowClan nursery hearing stories of the collapse of the Moonstone, and she has always been curious about it. Her curiosity has gotten her into trouble more than once, as any kits' will. About to become a medicine cat apprentice, Flaringpaw can't wait to explore ShadowClan territory for real (not just on one of her misadventures as a kit) and get to know every herb under the pines.
Alongside her curiosity and brash sense of adventure, Flaringpaw has an unusual taste for peace (for being ShadowClan, that is). Though she is loyal to her Clan and her Clan alone, she would rather not fight with other Clan cats, instead preferring to hang out within ShadowClan's territory, staying away from any trouble. Although, if it wasn't for her loyalty and pacifism, her curiosity would carry her just about anywhere.
HISTORY!
The smallest of her mother's litter, Flaringpaw grew up small and rather clumsy, always the last to feed on her mother's milk. As an older kit, she would spend hours in the elders' den listening to stories about leaders with nine lives and medicine cats that would travel to the Moonstone to commune with their ancestors; and she believed every word. When she wasn't listening to stories, she spent her time in the medicine cat's den, taking in the scent of fresh and bitter herbs. Unlike her litter mates, Flaringpaw wouldn't tussle outside the nursery with the other kits, or bother apprentices and warriors about what life was like outside the camp. She was always more interested in the medicine cat code than the Warrior Code, and never even dreamed of taking a mate.
When she turned six moons, she could hardly wait to find out who her mentor would be. Though she was clearly more interested in becoming a medicine cat, she wasn't too concerned about where she would be assigned, so long as she was serving her Clan to the best of her ability.
RP EXAMPLE!
"Come on, Flaringkit, play with us!" Her litter mates were becoming desperate, worried for their kin. Flaringkit never wanted to play, instead daydreaming about the ancient cats she heard about from the elders. She waved a dismissive tail at the wrestling kits, heading for the elder's den. She couldn't believe all they wanted to do was play, when their were fascinating stories to be heard about giant rocks that glowed in the moonlight, and leaders that received nine lives from cats long since dead.
"Maybe later," she called over her shoulder. She knew it was a lie, but the words left her muzzle anyway. At least it would get them (quite literally) off her tail for awhile.
Later, close to sun-high, while every other cat was sharing tongues in the clearing, Flaringkit was in her nest, day dreaming about moons past and moons yet to come. She wondered if her warrior ancestors were still watching over the Clan, and whether or not they would try to make contact again. It's silly, she thought. It seems like the Clans don't want to commune with the ghosts of their past. And yet she knew that their warrior ancestors were, at least at one point, important to the survival of all the Clans. So why was every cat giving up on them now? But, she figured, at least I still have a flare of hope.
